Braun have been producing high quality hair removal products for a number of years now. They also have an excellent range of products for taking care of your hair down there. If you’re willing to spend a little more to get great quality then the Braun bikini trimmer products below would all make excellent choices to keep your bikini line beach ready.
The Braun Silk Epil bikini trimmer products come in a few different models with each one having slightly different features or improvements. Here are our favorite models:
If you’re ok with a bit of pain then this epilator is a great way to keep your bikini line in shape. They’ve increased the width of the epilator by 40% from the Silk Epil 7 and 5 models. The epilator uses Braun’s MicroGrip tweezer technology to increase the epilation performance. This allows you to remove hairs that are 4 times shorter than what wax would remove. It comes with a shaver head and trimmer cap for a complete hair removal solution. The Silk Epil 9 is a wet and dry shaver and trimmer and can be used in the shower or bath and rinsed clean under water. This unit is cordless and will charge fully within an hour and will then deliver 40 minutes of operation.
Excellent epilator with increased width
Wet / Dry operation
Comes with facial brush
Need to go over an area a few times before all hair is removed
Final verdict: Epilating your bikini area is very effective but it hurts. If you’re going to do it then this is your best option.
The main difference between this model and the 9 model above is that the epilator head is 40% narrower. If you’re using it on your legs then that’s a negative. If you’re using it on your bikini area then it helps because it’s easier to get into those tight spots. It works equally well in wet or dry and will grab hairs as fine as a grain of sand. It comes with a shaver head, a massage cap, a trimmer cap for depilation, a sensitive area cap for your bikini area and an efficiency cap. The massage cap reduces the discomfort of epilation as do the vibration pulses when using the epilator.
Final verdict: If you want to save a few bucks and you’re ok with the narrower epilator then get this one instead of the 9 model.
If you’re ok with the fact that this unit isn’t cordless then you get the same great epilator action that the 7 model gives but at a lower price. Because it’s corded it doesn’t give you the wet use option but you can still rinse the head under water to clean it. Epilating hurts so we liked that this unit came supplied with a cooling glove which helps to prepare the skin for epilation and also helps to sooth the skin afterwards. Make sure your skin is clean, dry and oil free for optimum results with the epilator. The shaver head and trimmer do a great job with your bikini line if you don’t want to use the epilator.
Final verdict: If you want the excellent performance that the Braun Epi Silk range provide but want to pay less then this is a good choice. Just make sure you’re ok with the fact that it’s corded and can only be used dry.
If you don’t like the idea of epilating but just want a great, compact bikini trimmer then the FG1100 from Braun is ideal. The sharp trimmer blade allows for precision trimming. The handle fits nicely into your hand and makes it easy to manoeuvre into those tight spots. It comes with a 5mm and 8mm comb so that you can also trim hair to a uniform length. The high precision head allows for simple eyebrow trimming too. Like most other compact bikini trimmers, these units do tend to break after a year or two of regular use. While they’re working they do a great job and the budget price tag means you won’t mind having to buy another one when it eventually does stop working.
Trims really well
Will only last about a year or two
Final verdict: If you want a simple, compact bikini trimmer that gets the job done then this one is perfect. Just don’t expect it to last forever.
Braun have been in the hair removal game since the 1920’s so they know what it takes to keep you looking and feeling smooth. The Braun bikini trimmer products above are all great options. Decide on your budget and on the features you want before making your purchase. If the width of the epilator, wet / dry use and cordless operation aren’t essential then you can save a few bucks. We think that paying the extra few dollars to have those features is worth it though.
